Slowly the colours woke, dissolving into the light, the world shone so bright it settled inside my eye. Then what is this noise, pricking at my ears — so loud, so strange, a little fear came over me.
[Verse 3] ਚੁੱਪ ਕਰ ਜਾਓ ਹੁਣ, ਮੈਨੂੰ ਰੋਣ ਜਿਹਾ ਆਇਆ, ਅੱਖ ਦੇ ਕੋਨੇ ‘ਚੋਂ ਹੰਝੂ, ਗੱਲ੍ਹ ਤੇ ਢਲਕ ਆਇਆ। ਮਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਬਾਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਝੂਲਾ, ਹੌਲੀ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਝੁਲਾਇਆ, ਹੁਣ ਨਾ ਰੋਵਾਂ, ਨਾ ਰੋਵਾਂ, ਚੈਨ ਸੀਨੇ ਲੱਗ ਆਇਆ।
Hush now, please — a cry was rising in me, from the corner of my eye a tear slipped down my cheek. The cradle of her arms rocked me soft and slow, now I won’t cry, I won’t cry — peace has come to rest.
